What is the Green Suppliers Network?

The Green Suppliers Network is a collaborative venture among industry, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP). Green Suppliers Network works with large manufacturers to engage their small and medium-sized suppliers in low-cost technical reviews that employ lean and green methodologies to increase productivity, reduce waste, and boost profitability. The initial pilot began in February 2001, and the Green Suppliers Network was officially launched in December 2003.

How do I join the Green Suppliers Network?

Why should I participate in the Green Suppliers Network?

Participation in the Green Suppliers Network can help your company increase efficiency, while fueling competitiveness and reducing costs. Reviews can improve the health of your supply chain by fostering relationships between its members and by encouraging continuous improvement.

Who is eligible for a Green Suppliers Network technical review?

The Green Suppliers Network welcomes all U.S. manufacturers to participate in the Green Suppliers Network technical reviews. Preference is given to small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) definition of small business.

Are there any opportunities for recognition?

The Green Suppliers Network works to highlight success through case studies and publications. The Green Suppliers Network does not currently have a formal awards program. If you are interested in a formal awards program, we can connect you to your state's environmental leadership programs.
