Other Sustainability Programs
Your gateway to solving environmental problems and expanding environmental programs beyond the scope of the Green Suppliers Network:
WasteWise is a free, voluntary, EPA program through which organizations eliminate costly municipal solid waste and select industrial wastes, benefiting their bottom line and the environment.
EPA's Plug-In To eCycling
EPA partners with electronics manufacturers and retailers to increase the number of safe, convenient opportunities Americans have to recycle unwanted electronics and to increase the public's awareness of the need to recycle these products.
EPA's Green Chemistry Program
Green chemistry is the use of chemistry for pollution prevention. More specifically, green chemistry is the design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances. Green chemistry is a highly effective approach to pollution prevention because it applies innovative scientific solutions to real-world environmental situations.
EPA's National Partnership for Environmental Priorities Program
The National Partnership for Environmental Priorities Program (NPEP) encourages public and private organizations to form voluntary partnerships with EPA that reduce the use or release of any of 31 Priority Chemicals.
EPA's Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program
The Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP) is a voluntary program that forms partnerships with pesticide users to reduce the potential health and environmental risks associated with pesticide use and to implement pollution prevention strategies.
EPA's Sustainable Futures
Sustainable Futures is an approach that encourages pollution prevention in new chemical development through the transfer of EPA's chemical risk screening methodologies.
EPA's Center for Corporate Climate Leadership
A resource center for all companies looking to expand their work in the area of GHG measurement and management.
U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Website
A gateway to hundreds of websites and thousands of online documents on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
ENERGY Star Online Training Programs
ENERGY STAR offers online training and presentations to help you improve the energy performance of your organization. Trainings are self-guided or presented monthly through Web casts. Topics include financing strategies, creating action plans, and assessing performance.
EPA's Green Power Partnership
Through this program, EPA supports organizations that are buying or planning to buy green power. As a Green Power Partner, an organization pledges to replace a portion of its electricity consumption with green power within a year of joining the Partnership.
EPA's Green Building Programs
EPA's Green Buildings programs are focused on how to reduce environmental impact of buildings and create more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance, and demolition.
EPA's Design for the Environment Program (DfE)
DfE works in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders to reduce risk to people and the environment by preventing pollution. DfE focuses on industries that combine the potential for chemical risk reduction with a strong motivation to make lasting, positive changes.
Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT)
EPEAT is a system to help purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes. EPEAT also provides a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of their products.
Smartway Transport Partnership
The SmartWaySM Transport Partnership is a voluntary collaboration between EPA and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution. SmartWay Transport Partners lead the way towards a cleaner, more efficient transportation future by adopting fuel-saving strategies that increase profits and reduce emissions—a "win-win" opportunity for all.
Voluntary Diesel Retrofit Program
The Voluntary Diesel Retrofit Program works to reduce pollution resulting from existing diesel vehicles and equipment by encouraging fleet owners to install pollution-reducing devices on the vehicles and to use cleaner-burning diesel fuel. This involves working with state, local, and industry partners to verify the effectiveness of pollution-reducing technology and to create retrofit projects around the country.
WaterSense® seeks to protect the future of our nation's water supply by promoting water efficiency and enhancing the market for water-efficient products, programs, and practices.
